Old reads by Lois Duncan and Joan Lowery Nixon.

Last night, I'd been trying to remember a book I read back in highschool. So I did a little bit of googling because I had forgotten the title of the book, and ended up finding not just the one I was looking for, but another that I remember reading and enjoying so much that I checked it out twice from the school library.

A Deadly Game of Magic by Joan Lowery Nixon.

Down a Dark Hall by Lois Duncan.
Ahhh, classics! Do people still write young adult suspense like this anymore? I wonder if my old highschool still carries VC Andrew novels. I read the shit out of all of them back in the day...
Anywhoo, I wanted to order both with the covers I remember from waaaaayyyy back when I first read them, so I went to BN online to look for used library copies. And I have a BN coupon, so I thought I'd get a good deal. But when I tried to use my coupon, I kept getting "coupon code invalid". What the fizzity-uck?! Meh. I don't want new copies, cuz I just want two books, but two books don't make me eligible for free shipping, and I want the original covers (I'm old school like that) and I don't want to spend more than $1 for each (I'm cheapo like that.) so....I went to Amazon instead. I got Down a Dark Hall for my Kindle, and sent for a used copy of A Deadly Game of Magic.
Suddenly, I'm thinking about all the other suspense/horror books I read back in high school. I wasn't into R. L. Stine, though I read a handful of his early Point Horror books like The BabySitter I and II. I remember a particular series of books, early 80's, different stories, all of them having a female protagonist, blah, blah. Wish I can remember the name of the series!
