Getting the Man reacclimated to SF life

Where else?  Japantown.

We really needed ramen.  It was sooooo cold and windy out, and the slurp-tastic noodles really hit the spot.

This was suppose to be of him with that sock monkey-looking hat on, but my aim isn't so good, thus the seemingly self-important shot of me in the center and him on the side.  I wanted to try again but he had already pulled the thing off his head and said, "That's not happening again."

Will facing a dilemma.

I went into the Sanrio store while Will fled somewhere else.  Look, a Hello Kitty Easter Army!

Hello Kitty's dastardly influence is spreading.

Borders Books

I'm feeling mixed emotions for the Borders superstore down the street from where I work closing.  Two students I see regularly here in the building also have part-time jobs there.  I kill time on my lunch break there, whether it be magazine perusing or general mischief-making. (remember what I did two years back at another Borders, teehee...)  Hell, Will killed time there while waiting for me to get off work.  He'd go and collect all the lastest gaming magazines and find a shady spot between shelves to hide away and read in.  He also wouldn't answer his freakin' phone whenever I tried to find him so I had to listen for his Cowboy Bebop ringtone (Tank! is head-turner)

And then I'm reminded of that movie, You"ve Got Mail, where Kathleen's cute bookstore closes down when Joe Fox's mega-chain Fox Books opens nearby.  Makes me wonder exactly how many small independent bookstores had to close in the wake of a Borders superstore opening back in the day.

I can still pick up UK Bazaar at the Borders at Westfield waaaaaaaaaaay down on Market St.;  the Powell St. location is the only one in the downtown SF that's closing, according to the email.  And of course there's Green Apple Books on Clement St. not far from my neighborhood.

"I don't care if they're weeds, they're still pretty!"

A phlegmy throat and the inevitable arrival of Aunt Flo forced me to stay at home today, but I was still managed to soak up some sunshine-y Vitamin D before the rains come tumbling down, tumbling down, tumbling dahh-owwwwwwwn this Monday.

One of these days, I'll re-attach Jen's hammock.  Maybe even offer to mow the grass.  When I get a lawn mower.  I'm gonna enjoy the yellow flowery weeds in the meantime.

These guys use to be red.  And I use to be un-afraid to sit on them.  See the mole burrow in the upper left corner?

This is one very lonely lime.  One of the few surviving potted things Jen has in the backyard.  I take credit for it's survival.

The neighbors have the most prettiest orange blooms.  And in the next yard down, there's that tree with the hot pink flowers.  All well maintained.  *sigh*

Ahhhh, how I miss the chikahan.

My Gawd, Philippine showbiz tsismis is bananas.  I miss it, dammit!  I miss the silly entertainment variety shows and the silly interview shows with the 'dramatic moment' music prompt and the hosts' intrusive line of questioning.  And who could resist the big STOOPID egotistical mouth of Ruffa's Gutierrez's mom, Annabelle Rama?  Not me, no sir.  Not ever.  Everything that spawns out of that faded bomba star's piehole is absolute GOLD.

Usual Weekend Haunts

Japan Town!  Strangely un-crowded today.  Wonder why...

I always find myself drifting to the back of the Kinokinuya Bookstore.

I am very positive that this will be the first place my Man will think of for dinner on his first night back.

Nippon-Ya, or The Mochi Joint, as I call it.  I can never resist those chewy thingies.  They're like crack!

Mmmmmm...Mochi Chocolat...

*sigh*  No eating bunnies today.

Ye-ah.  For when Darth goes to his weekend cabin on Endor.

A Day at the Beach

Feeling congested and nasally didn't stop me from going out and enjoying the park today.  It did give me a good excuse to avoid the gym though, not that I'm crying about that...
Anywhoo, I went in the opposite direction today, straight to Ocean Beach.
Lots of families, lots of kids, people playing frisbee, couples making out on the sand, couples walking their dogs...

...Dogs playing with other dogs.

Will and I ran a good 2-3 miles up and down Ocean Beach back in 2009.  Well, I was running, he was prancing around me barefoot, cheerleading me on, "You're doing good babe!  You can do it!"
So help me, God...

Hey, there are actual tulips in Queen Wilhelmina's Tulip Garden!  AAAAnd the windmill was moving!
Okay, as I was taking this picture, I heard a girl on a bike laugh loudly, "Ooh, tourists!", and I swear, I nearly turned around to run after her, shove her off her bike and scream, "I LIVE HERE, MORON!".
Hi.  I'm a happy person.  Let's be friends.

Why I'm gonna shut up now about the weather here in San Fran.

Winter is barfing up loads of snow on the Midwest and East Coast, while I bitched about having to have lunch outside in Union Square because the faculty breakroom was crowded.
